- 15 June 2012 : General Ability Test
- 16 June 2012 : Objective Paper I & Objective Paper II
- 17 June 2012 : - Conventional Paper I & Conventional Paper II
IES-2012 EXAM ELIGIBILITY :
For General candidate : 21-30 Years SC/ST/PH : 21-33 Years
No. of attempt is not an issue to appear in IES exam.

I am an IT student looking forward for a career in Indian administration. IES which is closest to my field provides options for:
1. Civil
2. Mechanical
3. E & TC
4. Electrical
only and does not provide any options for IT. I want an executive position, viz. i want to solve problems and maintain software equipment in passport offices, traffic control rooms, police databases, (basically any civilian document processing agencies), etc. Is there any examination other than IES which allows me to do so. Please note that i don’t want a researchers position in DRDO, ISRO, etc. I want an executive position at state/union level.

For IES 2012 exam, you had missed the opportunity to apply, but for IES 2013 exam notifications are expected in february 2013. IES 2013 exam expected date : 14,15,16 june 2013.

for an IT students, best place for your interest at RAW, Intelligence, Ciber law deppt. Few deppt do not recruit in open exam module, they take such candidate through GATE Score, DRDO Score, IES results ( Lower/ waiting list ).
NIC is also a good option.
