BHEL Examination pattern

Branch: Comp science, ECE, EEE and Mechanical

TIME: 2hour 30 Minute                     240 Objective questions.
120- Technical questions in Technical subject(Branch wise)
120- General Apptitude questions. (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, Logical thinking, English usage & General awareness)

For each question there will be four options (a, b, c & d) and only one of the option is correct. The candidate will be required to choose the correct answer and indicate choice in the Answer Sheet by shading the appropriate choice

For each correct answer the candidate will be assigned one mark, while for each wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. Candidates are therefore advised to ensure adequate care before answering.

Candidates called for Personal Interview will be paid second class to and fro train fare or actual fare whichever is less, from the starting station or mailing address, whichever is nearer, on production of proof of journey. No travelling allowance will be paid for attending the written test.

Pattern of BHEL exam:       Engineer Trainee(ET):

General Apptitude: All the sections were very easy. Basic knowledge is sufficient to attend all the questions. But Keep time factor in mind and increase your speed. There are 120 questions like this!!	Reasoning: --- Seating arrangement problems --- Find the relation between them	TECHNICAL TEST: 120 question, each question will carry ONE marks. Consist of two parts: general engineering questions & questions specific to your engineering discipline. Although BHEL notification has not yet specified 120 questions are expected in each section.
English: --- Detect the words with wrong spellings (5 questions) --- Fill in the blanks with appropriate words(5 questions) --- Two reading comprehensions were given(10 questions) --- Find the error in the sentence (8 questions)	Quantitative ability: All the questions were very easy. --- 50% of the questions are from basic geometry. --- Remaining were very general and easy. But as there is a total 120 questions you have to be really quick.

Supervisor Trainee (ST):
The written test for ST post consists of 150 objective questions, to be answered in 2 Hrs time. Following are the sections - 1) Aptitude Test (covers Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Logical thinking, English, General Awareness etc)

2) Technical Test (questions from your subjects – Elect./Electronics/Mech/Civil engg) * There is negative mark of 0.2 for each wrong answer (1 mark for correct answer)
* Candidates have to refer their institute notes & Study material to prepare for this ST exam, as questions would be based on it.


NOTE: Revise all subject covered for the GATE exam that is more sufficient to CRACK this examination &Pattern can be change as per company requirement.
